An Old Project Finished!!! :)

Hello my crafting *peeps*! Today, I am going to show you a afghan that has taken me far to long to complete...LOL...(dancing around my room, whoppin it up!). I love all kinds of crafts but sometimes get side tracked and work more on some than others. Last year I had a time when I put almost all of my crafts away, but thanks to my husband, mom, dad and my wonderful friends, I pulled them out again and have persued my passion. I have crochet for 15 years and love it. Thanks to my very good friend Lori, who has encouraged me the last few weeks to make cards and to finish my two year project. The colors in this afghan are so warm and homey. They are Chocolate and Cream, and is created by using the V-stitch pattern. It actually works up very quickly. Thanks Lori for kicking me in the hiney.....LOL, I was crocheting with her yesterday and she said go home and finish forget the card, finish your afghan...LOOK Lori I listened...Yahoooooooooo! I hope you like it and that my brother in law and sister in law will like it too! Rick is tall so this blanket fits the top of a Queen size bed.

Here it is.....drum roll please *wink*

Close up...but you still can't see the stitches that good...it is the V-Stitch!
Folded in half on my dining room table

The one little side that has sun verus cloudy...LOL! There are earlier pictures of this blanket back in I think January 2009, when I started my blog. Could be Feb.

It sure feels nice to finish an old project. Highly recommended. There have been no cards since Thursday, due fun birthday parties, celebrating at the Sports Hall of Fame Awards (which my husband is on the board, it was nice we new people being inducted this year), and a stressful Friday that anything that could happen did. I look forward to putting a card on here tonight or tomorrow. I am also pulling out a afghan that is just about 1/2 way done, the yarn was a present for my birthday a couple of years ago from Lori. My goal is to create my cards but to finish some unfinished crafts too! Do you have any unfinished crafts? What are they? Thanks to all who inspire me. Have a really great March 30. Thanks to my mom, Lori and Leanne for my totally fabby birthday cards, I just love them and have them out for everyone to see. You all are amazing.
Have a super wonderful day my friends!

Happy Hump Day!!!!!! :)

9-in-1 Challenge Day!!! It is a First :)

What a Day, What a Day!!! Today has sure had some up's and down's but for the most part it has been a great day. I got my hair cut and colored (which hasn't happened in a while), I got to make a card and loved every minute of it. The one downer has been the birthday present we were giving to our son Legends of Soccer game has been cancelled. His birthday is Monday and now I am scrambling to find something else for him. It was very sad when I told him today.

Lori (my very good friend) again started my day off by calling me and telling me that I made the TOP 3 at Stampin Royalty for Challenge #11. My heart was beating very fast and I was a whaaaaaaahoooooing...my husband was looking at me kind of funny...LOL. Thanks so much to all of the Goddesses for picking my card it is such an honor. I was so excited about the knew challenge they have too.

On to my card, I found so many challenges today, also in part to my very good friend Lori who was giving me idea's while we were talking:

1. Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo Challenge:

2. Stampin Royalty: was to use glitter (I used it on my big flower, little flowers and the dsp). I love glitter.

3. The Shabby Tea Room - was to use Spring Inspired card with stitching. I Faux stitched around the big flower.

4. Totally Stampalicious - was to use dots and ribbon ( I used pink ribbon and swiss dots folder, and my dsp has dots)

5. The Corrisive Challenge Blog - was to paper piece and I did on my Bella's shirt.

6. Creative Card Crew - was to go Dotty. I used an embossing folder, paper piercing, and made dots with my markers and my DSP.

7. Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog - Spring is in the air and to use pastels.

8. Crazy 4 Challenges - is to make a spring card

9. Our Creative Corner - is to make a spring card/easter

Hopefully I have read all of these challenges right.

Here is my card:.

I will post my recipe a little later, I am trying to get supper on so my kids can go to rec night. The girl stamp is a Bella, swiss dots folder, and gems. Everything else is stampin up (whaooo)

Last night my mojo just was not working, so my friend Leanne posted a challenge to me on my blog. Leanne, thanks for the challenge, I hope I met it *wink*. Thanks to everyone who has inspired me with challenges and for challenging me to be a better crafter. I probably won't post another card tonight, but I sure had a blast making this one today.

Have an amazing Wednesday night, may it hold crafting with tons of laughter and good thoughts. Thanks for stopping bye.

A Super Great Monday!!!

Can a Monday get any better? Today, my kids had a day off of school and my little man Ethan was here and so much fun. What could be better than that? you say. Well my girlfriend Lori was checking out some crafting challenges and called me. She asked me if I had picked up my blinkie yet...I had no idea what she was talking about...LOL. I hadn't gotten that far on my computer yet...*wink* Lori told me that I had made the TOP 3 at KL Stampin N Scrappin Blog for challenge #21 (I was a whaooooo and a wooting :). Thanks girls so much for the honor and making my day. Then to make my day even better Lori called me back and asked if I was busy this afternoon and for supper. Everything was set in motion, the kids and Lori came for the day. We surfed blogs, ohhhing and ahhhing at stamps and then we crocheted. It was a perfect Monday, except for one little mistake... :(

I must apologize to the ladies over at the Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog. I entered a project last night that unfortunately was not what they were looking for...LOL. I was quickly reading and thought it said Paper Piercing and it was Paper Piecing. So here is my second attempted and this one is Paper Pieced (challenge #10) (my egg is paper pieced). Sorry ladies hope this hasn't caused you problems. I edited my other card and took it out, but it sure was cute..Hee Hee.

4-in-1 Sunday!!!

Well Howdy Ho!!! Blogger Land. The last 3 days have flown bye. Sorry for no cards in the last three days, I have taken sometime to be with the kids since they have a extra long weekend this week. Still no school tomorrow. Swimming, movies, game nights and their friends having sleep overs...it has at times had me thinking I didn't know if I was coming or going.

Today, I was lucky enough to spend time with my mom and 9 other fantastic ladies from my card club. We laughed so hard today that my cheeks still hurt...LOL. Thanks ladies, laughter is the best medicine when we are down. I had to make supper when we got home but after that, my mojo was going so down to my room I went. In the middle of making cards my daughter joined me and made a card too for her teacher.

Luck was on my side tonight as I am able to enter this card into 5 challenges, my most yet.

2. Charisma Cardz Challenges: wants you to make a card for the "kiddies"
3: The Pink Elephant Challenge: wants you to make a spring card. (Oh man sorry ladies I might have missed this one).

Happy St. Patrick's day and 3- in-1 card

Happy late night! Today my very good friend Lori and I went shopping, we went into Scrapbooker's Paradise and "Laura (from Flourishes) was working in their today." I found some cute little deals. We stopped at Chapters which I resisted by anybooks...but OH it was soooo HARD...LOL. Costco, nutters and walmart were also some of the stops today. It was nice Lori and I don't get to do this often, so it was a great day of laughter, friendship and shopping (thanks girlie). When I got home my kids helped me unpacked the food. Next it was supper then off to interviews...where we could puff out our chests a little because we are so very proud of the things the teachers said about the boys. One last thing soccer sign up...let the fun begin...Hee Hee.

Home we came and along with that was a challenge from Lori to create something tonight. So here I am using one of my early birthday presents from my dear friend. I totally *heart* them. Thank you so much girlie...they are wonderful.

Two Cards Same Challenge

A productive day today! Don't you just love days like that...I sure do. I got everyone off to school this morning and then my little friend Ethan came for the day (8:40 am-5:20pm). Laughing today was good and the sun felt even better. I played outside a little bit with Ethan. For supper I cranked up our BBQ and made hambugers. Laundry, dusting, pulling out an old afghan, changing my blog page, reading, playing outside, shopping, supper, kids in bed equalled a chance to finish my card and make another one. Just gotta love that!

Samantha and the rest of the gain over at the Scrapmaster's Paradise is holding their very first Blog Hop! I was so excited when I saw these colors yesterday. OH...the idea's running through my head all night...if only I could magically do them as I was thinking them up in my dreams...LOL. Congratulations to the Great DT's and Samantha the Creator of Scrapmaster Paradise, it truly is a wonderful blog. Enough with my novel...and onto my cards. I loved these colors so much I made two different cards.
Here is my big flower card. I had to rearrange this card a few times to get what I wanted. My recycled bit of product was my twist tie in the middle of the button. We were getting rid of some art that my daughter had done (and didn't want) so I promptly pulled this off one of her flowers. It was her idea totally not mine.Recipe: Big Blossom and Friendship Blooms (both SU);Tempting Turquiose, Green Galore, Whisper White; Basic Black and Tempting Turquiose; dazzling diamonds, glue pen, twist tie, button, pearls, Martha Stewart punch, and scalloped edge trim punch (SU)

My second card I was itching to make during the first one...LOL. Talk about learning patience. I also learned have a sharp blade in your cutter if you want things straight...LOL. This Verve verus in one of my fav's.

Recipe: Forever in our Hearts and Happiness Found (both Verve); Versa Fine (Black), Green Galore; DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Whisper White; Swiss Dots folder, Top Note (SU), paper piercing.

What a great Monday, wishing you all a great day tomorrow and thanks for stopping in. I hope you enjoyed the cards. Thanks Samantha for the wonderful color challenge and a great blog hop. Tomorrow is another busy day, but I do hope I have some time to create card.

Happy Crafting!!!

Gell Well Soon!!

Helloooooooooooo to all my crafting friends! What a day....first off I must say I don't like the Time change we do every spring...LOL. That extra hour of sleep is my *friend*...hee hee. Hoping this year will be different. A friend of my husbands and mine passed away so we went to his memorial this afternoon and then we got home and my chores began.

All of a sudden...their was time....sometime for me to sit down and finish my creation I started last night with the Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Challenge. I still did a mascline card tonight but it is a get well instead of a Happy Birthday like I did last night. Once again I used Jacilynn Dashwoods sketch from KL Stampin N Scrappin Blog. I just love this sketch and find it very versitile. I also thought it would be nice to do another mascline card since I was on a role and that is what these colors remind me off. Crazy 4 Challenges challenge is to make a mascline card, I felt like I was on a roll and would continue with this theme, also Stamp with Us is using mascline cards for their challenge this week too. Thanks ladies for all of the wonderful challenges this week.

Here is my manly get well soon card! This tree is one of my favorites beside the Lovely as a tree set.

Recipe:

Stamps: Thoughts and Prayers and Lovely as a Tree

Paper: Soft Suede, Bashful blue, Dusty Durango and Whisper White

Accessories: Markers (SU), pearls, bashful blue ribbon, swiss dots folders, button, hemp, scalloped trim border punch (SU)

Well I must go and get some stuff done for tomorrow. Thanks for stopping bye. See you soon.

Friday was full of good new from my 3 children, yesterday was report cards. Rob and I couldn't be more proud of them and all of their hard work. We watch a movie with them last night and I started learning how to play my guitar, from my son Robin.

With Sympathy #2 This Month

Hi there my crafty friends. Can't believe it is Thursday already...man it seems like time is just flying! I am sure glad that I had a chance to make another card today. My DH came home last night and told me about another death of someone he knows. He asked me to make another two sympathy cards, he needs them for Saturday and Sunday. I made one card through the Picture Perfect Creations Crafty challenges last week, but I still needed one more (click here). So I was looking at color challenges and sketches and figured I should just try and get it done (I do find them hard to make).

So challenge hopping I went and I landed upon The Play Date Cafe to see what their new color challenge was this week. It is full of fun colors to take from this picture. Julie Campbell rocked out on this inspiration challenge. Thanks!! A party is going on over their and a really good blog hop too!

I have been wanting to due this sketch from CardPatterns since Monday. Another sketch that is totally FAB!!!

Here is my inspired card from the above challenges. Sorry there is a little so much light shining off the silver. I hope that my DH will like this sympathy card. This first picture was actually width wise, but I can't seem to turn it on here (not sure why it is in this direction)hmmmm.... sorry about that. I just wanted you to see the flowers up close.

Paper: Brushed gold, Brushed silver, Basic Black

Just maybe tonight might hold another card...could I possibly make it three cards in one day...we will see what my family has in store for me. I do have many idea's floating around in my head and they must come out...otherwise I will dream about them all night..LOL.
Thanks for stopping in. Wishing you a totally fabulous afternoon.

Friend Challenge

Good morning to you all! As I was talking to my friend Leanne yesterday afternoon she challenged me to make an Easter card, and we decided that we should try to use pastel colors that would be easterish (is that a word probably not just in my dictionary...LOL). The only time I have made an Easter card was at my good friend Lori's stamp club...*wink*. I knew what card I wanted to use and what sketch challenge. So I was pumped and ready to go...for card #3 yesterday. What happened was I went to Rec night with my family and played dodge ball...it played me out and took my Mojo with it...LOL. So I finshed it this morning and woolla here is my first Easter card. Thanks Leanne for the challenge ( I love them). She has a fantastic blog called Banking on Crafts to see here creations click here.

I decided on using the sketch from Papertake Weekly Challenge #36. It was what inspired this card for me. The DT cards over there are just wonderful pop on over and check it out!

Here is my first ever Easter Card. This very cute bunny sure did deserved to get inky...love him.

Has it been a good day for you? Mine is very quiet with all my kids in school, but will be noisy in about a 1/2 hour...:). I hope you enjoyed my card. May your day continue to bring you laughter, love and peace. Hopefully you get all of that and some crafting done too....LOL. See you soon.

Believe

I just can't believe it is Wednesday! So there was no crafting for me this weekend, since my DH and I went shopping for furniture on Saturday...with some good results :) Which also ended with mental exhaustion...LOL. Sunday laundry was calling my name and so was my DH, we were karoking all afternoon...haven't done that in months, my poor, poor neighbors..hee hee. We also did our dreaded taxes!! So that was my weekend.

Monday, I went through a spring cleaning phase and was babysitting Ethan who is a joy but very busy.

Yesterday, I started to craft but my step brother called and gave me the news that my step-niece and her husband had their baby. She was 5 months pregnant and her little girl is 2 pounds...we are all praying for a miracle.

Robin, Kaitlyn and I went to see Tristan's bronze metal basketball game, which they won by default, but they still played the game for fun and won. We are so very proud of his team. I then dropped everyone off at home and ran to guitar lessons with Robin. The music they were playing had my foot tapping.

As I said yesterday, I started this card but didn't finish it, until this morning. I went to Stacey's Stamping Stage to look at her Curtain Call Call Color Challenge Act 20.

I also hopped on over to Crazy 4 Challenges and their challenge C4C27 was to include paper piercing on your project. *you know how much I love to do this*

I knew what image I wanted to use immediately Liesel and her wheelbarrow. The sentiment was a little harder. I guess I used this one as that was on my mind yesterday. Stacey's colors were inspiration for cutie pie Liesel. Hope you like her.

Here is my inspired card:

I think she is adorable and just love the Swiss Pixies.

Recipe:

Stamps: Liesel and her wheelbarrow (CC Designs) and Believe (Verve)
Paper: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White and DSP
Ink: Basic Black and Vera Fine black ink
Accessories: pearls, brads, dazzling diamonds, paper piercer, punch from SU, SU markers, and skin color copic marker, dimensionals, bashful blue and white ribbon.

I hope to return again later today with something else. Thanks for poppin in, see you soon.

Happy Birthday Rock Star!

What a day, what a day! I am not sure where this week has gone...but I swear yesterday was Monday...LOL. I sent a challenge out to the girls (Lori, Leanne and Melissa) today to make a card. Gitty with excitement this morning, I had started scoping out all the new challenges for today, but without warning I got a headache that made me sick to my tummy. There went my darn Mojo...grrrrrrr. So I thank the girls for creating with me, even though I am the last one to post to my challenge and you all had very busy days. Their were so many awesome projects out there today! Everyone is so talented.

The color challenge from the Scrapmaster's Paradise is awesome. All the DT's have done totally fabulous job's on all of their cards and scrapbook pages. It allowed me to make a clean and simple card. (LOL my brain couldn't handle anything fancy tonight or this afternoon...LOL). I used all of the colors listed below with pumpkin brads, night of navy ink, a cuttlebug folder and the Little Paper Shop (Rock Star) stamps, paper piercer, dimensionals, and a martha stewart punch.

Here is my creation today.

Thanks so much for popping in to see what I have done. Wishing you all a super night, what is left of it anyway...LOL.

As a side note thanks to everyone who leaves a message...I truly appreciate them all. Hugs.

Bright, Bright, Bright!!!!

Hellooooooooooo to you all! Today has been a great day, a crazy one, but a great one. As I was getting my kids ready for school, my good friend Lori called me and told me she had been up since 5:30 a.m. and had already put a card on her blog Inkingly Yours (her crafting Mojo was at high speed *giggle*). I couldn't believe it, she is really amazing. She then told me that she was challenging me to another crafty creative day...LOL and publicly on her blog....(how could you say no...LOL). I said okay and so I CHALLENGED HER back to the Play Date Cafe color challenge...of making a yellow card....we just love challenging one another, it sure makes life fun.

My DH surprise me this morning by working from home today...so I wasn't able to make my card until tonight. It sure was nice to have lunch with him today though. We went for a walk and then picked up Robin and Kaitlyn from school to go watch Tristan's basketball game. Tristan's team lost but it was a great game.

So when I got home off to my craft room I went with a card in mind. When I was out and about I thought I should do the same challenge as I gave Lori. I don't think I have ever done a yellow card before. As always the Play Date Cafe had a top notch color challenge. I then went looking for a sketch and hopped on over to the Fresh batch only to realize that they have moved their sketch challenge over to the Our Creative Corner....and let me tell you the sketch rocks. Some other challenges that this card works for are: Papertake Weekly Challenge (Button, bows, brads and bling) and Pals Paper Arts: Spring.

Here is my card:

You want to here something funny. When I was reading Lori's blog I realize she challenge two of our other friends today to the same challenge...LOL. I thought before I posted this I would look and see what everyone did. I am still laughing....my cheeks hurt. Why you ask? Well three out of 4 of us used the same sketch, we all used the same color pearls and the same paper choices (too funny). I guess our great minds think alike. Thanks Lori for the challenge today. Sorry it was so late on getting on here but I did complete your challenge.
SO A CHALLENGE OUT TO LORI....I CHALLENGE YOU TO MAKE A CARD TOMORROW!!! I also send the challenge out to Leanne and Melissa...may our crafting angles be with us.
Stamp: Thankful Blossoms (Verve)
Paper: Summer Sun, Barely Bananna, whisper white and DSP
Ink: Summer Sun
Accessories: Button, hemp, dazzling diamonds, pearls, D'Vine Swirl folder, Martha Stewart punch, dimensionals, paper piercer, and spellbinders
So here is wishing you all a fanastic night! Oh and one last thought.
A challenge out to you all....find some time for you to create anything tomorrow. Let me know on my comments if you take this challenge with your link and I will pop on over to see what you made. From one happy crafter to another....happy creating! I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for all the comments and stopping bye.

Wednesday Aready????

So this is my third time trying to post this....maybe I am just not meant to share my card creation with anyone today....ummmmmmmmmmm. My blurbs are getting shorter...LOL...because I have to go and make supper soon. The last few days have been busy and I have missed making a card. It was nice to sit down today and create. Although the bad news is I cut out tons of paper and didn't use it....the good news is I have alot of pre-cut paper...LOL.

I looked at a few blogs today and their were 3 challenges that I wanted to start with. The Color Dare had some amazing colors. The Paper Sundaes had a super sketch for us to follow (I found this one when it first started and have missed it every week. I am so thankful to get a chance this week). The Pink Elephant wanted you to add Green to your color combo. My friend Lori used this one as well. Great minds think alike hey Lori!!! :) :). These are all wonderful sites.

The colors I thought would be so easy for me, but I have to say I found it hard to put the Regal rose in with the paper, so I eventually went with a button and coloring in the stamped image. No complaints from me. It is a totally fab color challenge. I would like to try this one again to see if I could make it work this time with all of tha papers.

Here is my card. What do you think?

I had wanted to put ribbon along the bottom layer but realized that I didn't have any regal rose, maybe I should have used the white.

Thanks to everyone who works so hard on all of the challenge sites. They are truly wonderful. Gotta run but thanks for stopping bye. Throwing you all a super Wednesday smile!!!!

Maybe I will see you later.
