Challenge 18 and Happy New Year at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good Thursday Morning! I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! May it be a year filled with tons of laughter with family and friends. Also may 2011 bring you tons of inspiration with crafting in whatever you do.

Thank you so much to the ladies who played this last week. All of their cards were awesome. :)

Our very talented Crafty Chick Lori is the hostess-with-the-mostess this week.

Challenge #18 is theme of "New Year". Whatever it mean's to you, it could be a resolution, birthday, a baby, a new start etc.

This week is the 5th week in the month so here at 4 Crafty Chicks we offer up the CRAZY EGG and a prize. Lori has supplied all of these little goodies for us. Thank you Lori!

The New Year means celebrating my sons birthday. It is hard to believe that 14 years ago I was awaiting his arrival. Thought it might even be New Years but it wasn't...LOL. It was Jan 7 and a great day at that. At the beginning of every year, I think about what the year will hold for him and us. It was a great opportunity to just sit down and make his card and think about what is to come. We don't make resolutions but we are continuing to work at eating healthier this year.

Freshed Brewed Challenges #28 is to Celebrate and/or New Year. It works perfectly with ours over at 4 Crafty Chicks. Their DT's have some really awesome creations.

The sketch I am using is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch. She always has inspiring work. Alas when I popped on over there, it said it was her final sketch. So Mercy, thank you so much for all of your inspiring sketches. Your talent I admire and will miss seeing what you have designed for us to create with each week. I know I will still be looking to see what you are doing. So hop on over and play with Mercy and her muses for her final sketch.

Now this card is the first one I made but couldn't show you until today. Samantha from Scrapmaster's Paradise color Combo's came up with these rockin colors. They screamed to me that Tristan would just love them. Check out her talented crew, they have some wonderful creations.

Here is my son's card. He is turning 14 and has been studying like crazy to get his learner's permit. Hence the truck on the card...this scares me more than you know. They grow up so fast and are ready to move on when parent's just haven't quite got there yet...LOL. I also step out of my comfort zone and used 3 patterned paper's. Yes you heard me right...there are 3 of them on this card...LOL.

(Sorry, I can't seem to get it to keep the recipe in the post...grrr!)

Now my other Crafty Chicks have completely out done themselves again this week. Each of their cards are just stunning.

Banking on Crafts - Leanne
Inkingly Yours - Lori
My Paper Obsession - Melissa

I want to take this chance to say Thank you to my friends. I have really enjoyed the last 18 weeks of fun. I look forward to every Thursday to see what each challenge has inspired you to create. Looking forward to working with you in 2011.

Too each of our followers Thank you. Without you this would not be possible. It has been so much fun seeing what has inspired you from our challenges and getting to know you from your blogs. Here is to seeing you in 2011 for some more crafty challenges, some prizes and most of all fun.

Just a thought...does anyone know where the last two weeks has went? It is hard to believe that my kids are going back to school on Monday.!!!

Please come join us for our theme challenge this week. We can't wait to see what you make!

May the 4th time be the charm for this tonight. I went to edit it and then it would let me publish because of my html. I had it published and linked. Tried two new ones completely and they both failed. I am really hoping this work. Hugs.

Thanks for stopping bye, it is always appreciated. Happy New Year :) :)

Thanks a Bunch!!

Well it is very late this Tuesday night and I don't mind telling you...the temptures sure have dropped. I am freezing in my craft room right now. Tonight was about making some cards ahead of time and well I managed to get one done and then have some fun making one for some challenges.

So challenge hopping I went for Monday and Tuesday and low and behold I found the perfect theme for a card at Papertake Weekly Challenge: BE THANKFUL! Phindy's Place Challenge is also GIVE THANKS. This challenge blog is new to me and I want to thank Anne for introducing it to me. I look so forward to playing more in the new year. After chrismtas and spending time with family and friends who isn't thankful.

Now I had a theme, colors were needed and well I had seen Scrapmaster's Paradise yesterday and just loved them. Alarm bells were going off with these fabby colors.

Bang boom bam...now all I needed was sketch and I found an awesome one at Tuesday Morning Sketches by Melissa Craig.

I was set to go with colors, sketch and a theme *whoot, whoot*. Now on Melissa sketch there is a curved kind of line and well not having anything to do it for me, I broke out my scissors and attempted to cut it. Now don't laugh, it was really the best I could do. Also it was so much fun to use one of my new embossing folders. My card really isn't so huge in person, it is a normal size card...LOL...LOL.

Recipe: Stamp: A Little Somethin (SU); Paper: Always Artichoke; river rock, Soft Suede and whisper white; Ink: soft suede; Accesories: 1 3/4 in circle punch, large spellbinder, dauber, pop up's, paper piercer, Swiss dots and Fleur De Lis Cuttlebug embossing folders and scissors.

Well after my fun night of creating and my DH helping me find some new and cool ways to use my computer I am ready for bed. We are trying to find new ways to load pictures to my computer since mine won't let me put any on through my SD card...it has made me just a little tired.

Thanks so much for stopping bye. Have a wonderful day if you are earlier and night if you are going to bed. Keep smiling :)

A Cheery color combo at Picture Perfect Creations

Merry Christmas everyone, hope your was filled with joy, peace, and tons of love! We ha,d a fanastic and very quite Christmas. On the 24th we went and saw Rob's Grandma who is 91 1/2 and just an amazing lady, it was an super great way to spend the afternoon. We had my mom and dad over christmas eve night and christmas day. My brother and his boys came to spend some time with us on the 25th! It is always extra special since my nephew was born on Christmas Day! We spent the day visiting and playing cards. Oh and who could forget eating...LOL. Boxing day was spent learning how to use my new computer, reading an amazing book, watching the movie Avatar with my family and working in my craft room. So many people and things to be grateful for, we are truly blessed. What did you do?

We are back this week with another fabby color combo by Megan. Picture Perfect Creations is on challenge #43 and the colors are Rose Red, Night of Navy and Pear Pizzazz. No Christmas card for me this week, I have moved onto a birthday card this week!

Stamping 411 this week put out another amazing sketch. The square card is smaller than a 5 1/4 card but it is very cute and a size I just might make more of. the ladies cards are awesome too.

Here is my card! I am sorry the color on the picture is not right on. I did use night of Navy but it looks more like purple. My camera was not working the best today! I will try to get a better picture for it.

Recipe: Stamps: Annabelle Stamps; Ink: Basic Black; Paper: Rose Red, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz and whisper white; SU markers, punch, Swiss Dots and Moroccan Screen, dazzling diamonds, white pen.

Today means having to get my laundry done and waiting for our dish washer repair man to come. I can't wait to get back into my craftroom today! It is sooooooooooo nice. One of the best parts of our holidays was that we finished my sons room and got him back in it! My craft room is now allllllllllll mine...LOL.

Come join us for our new color combo, I would love to come and see what you have made.

Wishing you all a totally fabby day, thanks for stopping bye.

The Play Date Cafe Meets Card Patterns

Good evening my friends. It is after 11 pm here, but I made a little time to craft after painting my sons room. Thank goodness we are almost done and my craftroom will be alllllll mine...LOL. I had a very special card to make for a wonderful friend. It is her birthday and well it just couldn't go without a card made specially for her.

The color combo I chose to use was from The Play Date Cafe: Black, White and a Splash of yellow. This challenge site is one of my fav's and boy have I missed playing here. Life has just gotten too busy and boy have I missed it. Of course with it being so late and well frankly my brain being so tired I required a sketch to help me...LOL. Card Patterns has a clean and simple sketch that screamed these colors. Thanks to all of the Design Team's inspiration's, they are beautiful.

Here is my card:

Clean and simple it is and well you know how I love my dry embossing folders...when you need a little pazz...emboss.

Recipe: Stamp: SU(??); Ink: Black; Paper: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White; Accessories: white pen, paper piercer, D'Vine Swirl, black pearls and black satin ribbon.

It sure is wonderful to sit and create something to make someone happy. Wishing you all a great night and thanks ladies for the wonderful challenges.

Snowmen at 4 Crafty Chicks!

My friends for the last few days we have been having a Winter Storm...not quite a blizzard, but close enough. We have had lots of snow and there are huge drifts on the roads. We were teased you see with warm weather (-4) and blue skies on Monday and by Tuesday afternoon it started to snow and is now -20 with a very high wind chill.

Can you believe it is Thursday already??? Boy I sure can't but it is here and I am lucky enough to be the hostess this week at 4 Crafty Chicks. So with all of the snow falling who couldn't think of making snowmen. I couldn't believe it when I came home last night from my son's vocal lessons and there was a little boy playing out on his front lawn making a snowman...just happy as could be. He inspired my card for today's challenge. I had another idea but well this one just kind of took over. So I challenge you for CHALLENGE #16 TO USE SNOWMEN.

Here is my card:

I love this stamp aren't they just so cute? It worked so perfect with my new snowflake embossing folder (Northern Flurries???)from Stampin Up. Versa Fine Black ink, Night of navy paper, whisper white paper, and bashful blue paper, dazzling diamonds, night of navy satin ribbon and light blue pearls and SU & Copic markers.

I would like to enter this card into:

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Christmas card (Challenge #133)

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge Blog - Merry Christmas (Challenge #44)

A New Creation for Picture Perfect Creations #42

Good Monday Morning to you! Well where did the week go and I think I blinked and the weekend was gone...LOL. What a great weekend it was. Friday night my mom and I went to our Stamp Club wind up and we laughed so hard I cried, it was so much fun to share in a good time with some really wonderful ladies. On Saturday, my daughter had her last day of rhythmic gymnastics and we got most of my son's floor tiled. A little bit left to go and then we the grouting starts...LOL. Sunday, was a cleaning day and a bit of a lazier day but I did get to play in my craft room..yahooooooo!

Our hostess this week at Picture Perfect Creations is Paula. She does amazing work each week be sure to hop on over to check out her blog. Megan set up some colors that I just couldn't get a christmas card around and wouldn't you know it I think of an idea now...LOL. If I am lucky I will be back later to show you a christmas card with these colors. My daughter wanted a birthday card for her teacher...so I thought a flower might be nice with all of our snow.

Every Saturday, Stamping 411 has a sketch challenge and I love the clean and simple look of this card.

Here is my creation this week!

I love these colors but for some reason I struggled, maybe it was because I so badly wanted to make a christmas card...LOL. Or maybe it should have been plain on the bottom, no embossing. It did turn out okay. The flower stamp is from a Verve set, small and large spell binders, green pearl, stamping up paper: basic grey, garden green, daffodil delight dsp, whisper white, ink: was basic black and basic grey, D'vine Swirl embossing folder.

This morning I am babysitting and then once I get 5 kids and my dh off too school and work then I will be going christmas shopping, well I hope anyway...LOL.

Don't forget to stop by Sandy, Paula, Lori, Melissa and Megan's blog to see how they made their creations and even to share some love. Again they have made some rockin creations.

Thanks for stopping bye. Hugs!

A Surprise, Thank You and Crafting with my Daughter!

Good evening my crafting pals! I was searching to see what everyones new challenges are for the start of this week and let me tell ya, their are some real gooders out there...LOL. Love it! Any way I got to one of my new fav's The Paper Players and as I was looking at their posts I saw that Anne Marie had picked my card (click here)to be one of the Headliners this week! IT has made me smile tonight (to tell you the truth I am totally giddy and hopping around...LOL. Anne I appreciate being picked and I am very thankful for the honor...I will wear the badge proudly on my blog. Thanks ladies for such an awesome challenge blog.

Onto some more fun. My daughter Kaitlyn is 8 and at school they made these really, really cute ornaments, but my daughter has figured out they make a perfect barbie hat...LOL. On Saturday afternoon she was soooooo excited to teach her grandmother and me how to make them. So out came my very lonely balls of yarn and cotten yearn to make these hat (my yarn has not been touched it so long it felt nice to feel it on the fingers). I must say they are easy and a complete blast to make. Thank you so much Kaitlyn and mom for crafting with me.

Mine is on the left and Kaitlyn's is on the right! She does amazing work!

I have been meaning to put this card on here since the end of November. My mom every year goes above and beyond with her talent at making out Christmas invitations. This year was no exception...her card is just stunning and she makes around 45 of them. Mom these are stunning and just keep getting better every year. Thank so much for all of your hard work.

I hope you all enjoy these two little crafts. It brings me joy to show you the work of my family. One day I hope to get a blog started for my mom and then she can show you on a regular bases.

See you tomorrow morning for a new Picture Perfect Creations challenge and also come join us at 4 Crafty Chicks, we have 1 day left for our color challenge!

Super Color Challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Good morning everyone! Sorry, my morning is off to a slow start for posting. I was actually in bed extremely early last night. Guess the shopping was to much and all the clothes I bought for my son's concert tonight didn't fit so I will be spending my day running around trying to find clothes. Usually I have this posted at midnight...*sigh* and my hubby was hogging the computer...LOL.

Wow what amazing creations we had for the Birthday Challenge last week. I loved the inspiration and learned a few things too! Thanks to everyone who played, we hope you will come and join us this week.

Melissa is our wonderful hostess this week for challenge #15 at 4 Crafty Chicks. She has picked an awesome colors for us to work with. Now this week has been a mad house here so clean and simple is what I could do, but I am hoping to make another card with these colors with more layers and a little more complicated.

The sketch I used this week is a clean and simple one from Stamping 411. The ladies have some awesome creations with it! Stampin' Royalty challenge this week works for me it is a Winter Holidays challenge (christmas, Hannakua...), their cards are also super :). Since christmas is approaching fast, I am just having a super hard time not working with christmas images...LOL. Top Tip Tuesday Tip #13 is Use Ribbon, all of their DT's have super fabby creations. MY TIP: use tweezers they are amazingly helpful when trying to place items straight on your card! l. I encourage you all hop on over and see their works and even join in one of their challenges. Of course we would love you all to come and play with us at 4 Crafty Chicks.

Here is my creation. As you can see, I must love my snowflake punch from MS because it has been used on my last three cards...LOL. The stamp set is Snow Swirl from Stampin UP, not quite navy ink, corner rounder punch, gems and pearls. Of course who could resist a little embossing... *wink* certainly not me...LOL. Clean and simple seem to be my cards lately. Hope you still like it.

Stop bye and join us for a fun challenge, take a break from all of the crazyiness of this time of year and play a little. I know I am going to try and follow this and make another card. It is so much fun seeing all the inspiration from everyone and it is a blast hopping over to your blogs and commenting. Have a very Happy Thursday...come see us at 4 Crafty Chicks and then hop on over to Leanne, Lori and Melissa's blog to see their amazing creations this week.

Happy Thursday, I am off and running to try and find black pants and a black dress shirt to fit my son for his concert tonight...can you say a little stressed...LOL. What is stressing you this season? Hugs and smiles to you all.

Thanks for stopping bye!

Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo #41

Gooooooood Monday morning! Well this morning is so exciting! First off Megan had a little baby boy and we are so exited for her and her hubby. He is just so darn cute. So this week Sandy will be our PPC host.

How was your weekend? My weekend was really busy on Saturday it was my daughter Rythmic Gymnastic preformance. Their whole group performed a routine for us and then Kaitlyn along with another girl were the only ones to put on a ball routine. She was so nervous, but they did amazing. After we went and did some christmas shopping...don't mind saying I am soooooo behind this year and not at all organized...LOL. Sunday was my step families christmas and it was wonderful to see everyone and all the little babies...who would not love cuddling up with those honeys. We found out that their are 2 more on the way.

Enough of my chattering and onto Megan's delicious color combo! We are on Challenge 41 here at Picture Perfect Creations and it is so much fun. Hope you don't mind but I am still in Christmas card mode...so I managed to knock off another christmas card with this color combo ( it is definately not a traditional color combo...LOL). Guess, I will toot my own horn, but I think it turned out pretty good. Can't wait to see what you make for us!!! My fellow DT's rocked the crafting planet with their creations this week.

The sketch that inspired me this week is from The Sweetest Thing...thanks Karen it was an awesome sketch and it worked so well with The Paper Players challenge of a CHRISTMAS THEME. Sundays With Crissy is Challenge #12 CHRISTMAS IS COMING OR WINTER IS HERE! All of these challenges worked soooooooo good with Megan's Color combo.

Here is my creation! I used Holiday Line-Up from Stampin Up. Instead of using my fav dazzling diamonds, I got out my northern lights embossing powder and used it on the snowmen and the background snowflakes. They might have been better either versa marked or embossing in white. Oh well it doesn't always look the way you want, but I tried something new...LOL. Still got my embossing folders in though...LOL. I used stampin up markers, versa fine black ink, clear embossing powder, martha snowflake punch, white pen, pearl and gems.

Hope you all liked the finished look of this unlikely christmas card color combo. it was a blast to make.

What are you up too today? You will find me working in my sons, bedroom painting. I have learned that dark colors are hard to paint, we are now going on our 3rd coat of red paint in his room. May the third time be the charm or I just might work on the doors today, put the second coat on them and then start the other color. Soon well maybe in another 2 weeks he will be in his room and I will have my craft room back...LOL. I also have to register my daughter for gymnastic's again. Oh and do some laundry....does anyone have a laundry genie laying around? I sure could use one...LOL.

Well I should get the show on the road and start doing something! Hop on over to PPC to see the inspirational creations from the DT's (Paula, Lori, Sandy, Melissa and Megan). They really are talented ladies. Can't wait to stop over at your blog and share some love.

Sharing a smile with you and wishing you a chance to relax and craft. Hugs.

Thanks for stopping bye.

Challenge #14 at 4 Crafty Chicks

Well good afternoon to you! I know this is really late posting but man have I did not like my computer last night and then when I got home this afternoon to try and post this quickly...it did not save my post...it was gone. So maybe the third time will be the charm....LOL.

Thank you to everyone who played in our inspiration challenge last week. It is just soooo much fun to see everyones creations, they were really fun, cute and creative.

Can you believe we are on Challenge 14 at 4 Crafty Chicks. Our beautiful hostess this month is Leanne. She is challenging us to a Birthday card. The card I made for this challenge is for my sons friend. I let Nicole pick the stamp she wanted and her favorite color is Teal. I hope this turned out good, it is a very simple card.

I love fairies and this stamp is awesome.

Have a super week and I just can't wait to see what you all create....I LOVE COMING TO VISIT YOUR BLOGS!
